In Memory

Marsha Schweitzer (Snyder)

Marsha Ann (Schweitzer) Snyder, age 72, passed away in Bel Air, Kansas, on March 8, 2024, with her family by her side; one day after celebrating her remarkable 54th wedding anniversary with her devoted husband Donald. She courageously battled pancreatic cancer since her diagnosis in October 2023, and now finds eternal peace in the arms of the Lord.

She was born July 5, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Lester Schweitzer and Joan (Schroeder) Schweitzer and was sister to Mark and Richard. She attended Wichita North High School, Class of 1969, and Butler County Community College before meeting the love of her life, Donald Snyder, to whom she married on March 7, 1970.

Together, the pair welcomed children, Chris and Bryan, whom she ensured thrived in various activities to include Boy Scouts, band, basketball, soccer and campouts. Her selfless dedication saw her tirelessly supporting their pursuits. Together, she and Donald built a strong foundation of over 54 years of marriage, filled with shared adventures and cherished memories of family. Their love story is a testament to enduring commitment and unwavering devotion.

Marsha was a woman of grace, warmth, and boundless love. She was a passionate traveler and found joy in exploring new places. Cruises were among her favorite adventures, next to family ski vacations and a memorable trip to California in the 80s, where many memories were created with lasting bonds and cherished moments.

Not only did Marsha have a love of family and friends, her love for four-legged companions also enriched her life, as she welcomed several beloved cats and dogs into her home throughout the years. Yet when not caring for her fur-babies, she was a gracious hostess who delighted in organizing tea parties for friends and relished dining out with loved ones.

After a rewarding life in Wichita and entering retirement, Marsha and Donald spent eight years in Buckeye, near Phoenix, where they forged more enduring friendships, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

In addition to her love for travel and hosting tea parties, she was an avid reader, devoured multiple books weekly, and enjoyed staying active through daily walks and yoga classes. She also found great joy in attending music theater performances with her cherished friends and family. Whether it was a classic Broadway show or a local production, she embraced the magic of live theater and cherished the shared experiences with her loved ones.

Marsha touched countless lives with her kindness, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
